Gettin' our grill on

After going 2 years without being able to have a grill at our apartment, you know what our first big purchase was going to be!  We went to Lowes on Friday night and picked up a large charcoal grill, took it home and made burgers on it that night.

the grill in it's temorary spot in the yard

And then of course steaks had to follow that up and let me just tell you that we have gone for 2 years pan frying our steaks and to finally be able to actually grill them was amazing!  They were some of the best steaks either of us has had in a long time!

they left us these lights on the patio and I Love them!

All of this cooking meant that I used a gas stove for the first time in my entire life.  I don't know why I've always had electric any place I've ever lived but this was a first for me and since it cooks pretty different from electric, it will take me some time to get used to.  But so far, so good.

one day, if I ever get married, I will register for nicer pots and pans . . . until then, I use what I've got :)

The dogs are loving the backyard for sure.  Daisy does her 'thing' then pops a squat on the patio . . .

 sittin' pretty

while Bella's main focus is barking at the dogs next door
she thinks those bigs dogs should be scared

Unpacking is coming along slowly but surely.  One thing I wanted to show off is this cute sign I bought at HobLob on their discount rack . . .

I know I could of made it myself but for $6 it was too cute to pass up

I will continue to post photos of the house as we get unpacked an organized.  We are still somewhat living out of boxes but I hope to have the majority of them cleared out by this weekend.

i love the lights on your patio - and love the grocery sign!

i'm the same way with my pots and pans - they are all hand-me-downs from my grandma and great grandma's but they work now... and one day down the line - we will get nice dishes - right!? :)

That was one of our first purchases when we moved out of our apartment too! Jealous of your fenced inyard! We still have to chain our dogs up because we have no fence and they are EXPENSIVE!

My hubbs likes to grill at least once or twice a week. We just built a big back porch and we used C9 Christmas lights too!

I am in an apt and can't have a grill (for the first time in years) I am lost cooking in the summer without it!

Enjoy the new place :-)
