Part Two: How I met the man I'm going to marry

You can find Part One HERE

So the night came when my friend, the guy she was dating, Allen and myself were all supposed to meet up at Cape Buffalo to play pool.  I got there quite early not realizing it and was waiting in the parking lot when I got a phone call from Allen asking if I was already there because he just pulled in.  My friend and her date hadn't arrived yet so I was unsure about meeting him by myself but I took a chance and told him I was sitting in my car in the parking lot.  I remember the butterflies I had at seeing him walk across the parking lot to where I was parked and thinking that this guy was even more good looking than his photos gave him credit for.
As he approached me I realized two things; one, that even inviting him to join us was a big sign that I could actually see this going somewhere and that two, he obviously felt the same way since he accepted the invitation to basically meet a stranger.  We gave each other a small hug and exchanged the nice to finally "meet" you pleasantries.  I called my friend to find out where she was and like usual she was running late so Allen and I went inside and sat down at the bar to chat.
We were well into a getting to know you conversation when my friend and her date showed up.  From there we took our conversation over to the pool table and I learned that Allen did not accept my invitation with any intention to actually play pool because to put it nicely, he was horrible at it.  We spent more time talking than actually playing pool and ended up deciding that we didn't want to play anymore and we would just grab a table to talk.

My friend and her date stayed for just a little while longer but since it was getting late and she has a little boy, they left to go home.  I was living at Austin Ranch at the time and I had to work the next morning so I invited Allen to go to this bar near my place called Gecko.  Turns out that before he moved to Austin and while he was still living in Dallas, him and his buddy Craig were often at Gecko multiple times a week and since I lived right around the corner for 2 years this was my local hangout.  I would bet that we had seen each other there before and never realized it!
So we hung out at Gecko for awhile longer before I couldn't stay out any later and I told him that I had to get home to bed.  He walked me to my car and right there in the parking lot we had our first kiss.  And I cannot even begin to tell you about the fireworks that went off and how my stomach turned to complete mush.
I knew right then and there that this boy I just happened to randomly message was going to mean a lot more to me than I had ever intended.
He picked me up for our first official date on April 4, 2008 where he took me to dinner at a little italian place in Frisco called Terilli's.  I went to order a pinot noir on the menu and when she asked him what he wanted to drink he looked at the wine menu, pointed and said "I'll take the #2."  I will remember that for the rest of my life because here's a guy that probably never drinks wine but wants to because I am and trys to be smooth but ends up making a fool of himself because the wines weren't numbered!  I laughed so hard at him and honestly haven't stopped since.

For now that's the story of how we met.  There's way more to our story of how we started dating long distance and of course my decision to eventually move to Austin but this portion was long enough for today so I'll have to delve into that more in the future.

Hi Jenn,

I just found your blog through Impulsive Addict's blog and really enjoyed your love story! Congrats! As a way to make up for the ornery post I made for your Breaking the Ice meme, may I suggest a gorgeous song to play at your wedding?
