scenes from the weekend

On Friday night we went to watch game 2 of the Austin Regional baseball tournament.  We lounged around in the suite, drank a few adult beverages, ate some sliders and hot dogs and watched as UT beat Princeton.  Bevo joined us for a moment in the room and of course I acted like a 5year old and got a photo as well as an arm coated with mascot sweat.
We had such a great time and if Texas makes it then we were invited back again for this coming Friday's game as well.  Cross your fingers!
Also during the game on Friday I saw a tweet from one of my favorite bloggers saying that she was in Austin and had some time on Saturday to meet up with anyone in the area.  I jumped at the chance to meet her and Saturday afternoon I met up with her and 4 other wonderful ladies at the Hilton downtown.  We chatted for a bit then went to a local restaurant per Mandy's suggestion called Moonshine.  It was a new place for all of us and the food was awesome.  Meeting Jessica was the highlight of my weekend but I have to admit that I was as equally pleased to meet a few more Austin bloggers who I hit it off with instantly.
Thanks for getting us all together Jessica and next time you're in Austin lets do it again!
Sunday was all about baseball again as I went out to Allen's baseball game in the 96* heat.  Being the pale girl I've become in the last couple of years the heat gets to me instantly and I couldn't stay out there for more than one game.  Thankfully that wasn't an issue since the second game went on a lightening delay and never resumed.  We got a few seconds of rain accompanied by some outrageous humidity.  I like to watch my man work as you can see and I know how much pride he puts into all that he does even if it's taking care of the field in between games.
I also managed to finish painting a sign for our front porch that I hung right above our doorbell.  99% of the time we are not at all interested in what a solicitor is selling (like most people) so we wanted to save their time and ours by getting a sign out there that will hopefully make them leave before they've pushed the bell.  Hopefully it works!

I have to admit that I had a wonderful weekend but late last night it hit me how quickly time is flying and how much more I have to do/plan for our November wedding and I had a bit of a breakdown.  It's quite stressful and I'm the type of person who likes to do things myself and my way and not ask for help.  This week I have to continue getting ready for our garage sale on Saturday but after that's finished I'm diving head first into my long checklist and putting all of my free time into wedding plans.  Wish me luck
