scenes from the weekend

Allen and I have been gifted tickets to see KU vs. UT again and can't wait! Rockchalk!; my coworker Natalie brought her 1 month old Jackson to see us at the office; I made hot chocolate from scratch using Hershey's milk chocolate chips and milk; Longhorn roll from Nagoya that's so yummy!

my mantle after Christmas stuff taken down and before I requested help on Twitter; my "I love you because" sign hanging up with a message to Allen; lazy pugs who kept me company all weekend; my love and I on Friday date night

Daisy is the princess of the couch pillows and claimed this spot all weekend

my mantle after the help of some Twitter friends, using all things I had on hand (Chelsea thank you so much for you input, I love it . . . however Allen won the green sign placement!)

and if you're curious about the Roberts sign from my "before" mantle photo, it's one of the ones that I've painted.  It's an old piece of wood that I actually stole from a neighbor's discard pile, cleaned it up, painted it and then beat it up some more with a screwdriver and a hammer to give it a distressed look.  Right now I don't have a way to hang it since it's kind of heavy so I'm going to wait until we move to find the right spot for it.

Our weekend was super low-key since Allen worked the majority of it and I cleaned and lounged on the couch the majority of mine.  I love relaxing weekends and enjoyed it thoroughly since this weekend I'll be in Dallas celebrating my Dad's side of the family's Christmas (a few weeks late).
Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend!

Our weekend was very low key too; which it never seems to be! Sometimes, that is exactly what you need! Love the mantle

i dont know why i didnt ask this before, but when i saw your last name, it made me think of it! is your hubby related to anyone in Beaumont? I have a good friend who is married to a Roberts-- his parents are named Greg and Kathy Roberts. Oh and your mantle looks so good!
