last Sunday we found that a house finch had made a nest in my front door wreath
I moved the wreath to the wall next to the front door so we wouldn't disturb the nest and just hoped the bird would still come back to it to lay her eggs
tried out a pinterest inspired polish and liked it for a few days

I went home for the weekend to spend time with my family and forgot my camera at my parents house when I drove out to my cousin's to see everyone. I was so disappointed in myself because I would have loved some photos with everyone who was there that day. We had a great time chatting and eating (what family get togethers are for) and afterwards, my Dad, brother, sis-in-law, cousin Kristy, her husband Kevin and myself went to Razzoo's for crawfish and adult beverages.
On Sunday I went and hung out with my mother-in-law for a little bit then went to see Honey after he got home from church. I helped write a few extra thank you cards for donations made in my Gramma's name and then my noisy pugs and I got back on the road late in the afternoon.
What is usually a 2 1/2-3 hour drive for me turned into 4 + hours and I didn't get home last night until after 8pm.
Last I was able to check before leaving town our birdie had only laid 3 eggs and she has been incubating them each time I've gone outside to look since getting home last night so I hope to check on them today when I get off work. House Finches typically lay from 4-6 eggs so I'm wondering if she will have any others when I check today. I can't wait to watch the progress of them going from eggs to baby birds. I will probably keep that wreath out year round now that it has a nest so that any other birdies can use it whenever.
Happy Monday y'all!
