Friday Randoms

I honestly don't know where this week went because it feels like Monday was just yesterday but I'm loving that we're staying home this weekend and relaxing as much as possible.  For two weeks, back to back, we were in Dallas and sometimes it's nice to not have to make that drive if we don't have to.  However I do miss my family already and wish there wasn't a 3 hour distance in between us.

~  With that being said, one of the things I wanted to chat about today is the opportunity Allen has for a coaching position he's been working towards for quite some time now.  We've been trying to keep it quite for a little while because there's always the chance that he doesn't get the position but we would much rather have everyone praying with us instead.  I can't go into details until we know more and that won't be until later in November so we've got a little bit more of a wait to go.
My husband is such a hard worker and has been a baseball coach ever since graduating college 10 years ago.  He deserves this amazing opportunity so much and I can't even begin to go into what it would do for us and our life if he were to get the position. We've heard there are some great applicants but he was recommended for the position from some very reputable coaches/people so we're hoping he can shine above the rest.  We would be so appreciative if all of you would send us your good thoughts and prayers!

~  Another family that could use some prayers are the Brown's.  I do not know them personally but was introduced to them by my cousin who shared their story on her facebook wall.  At 34 weeks (on September 15, 2012), while her husband Sean was still in Afghanistan, Heather slipped into a coma and their baby was delivered via emergency c-section.  Sean was able to come home so that he could take care of their sweet newborn John and Heather is still in a coma as of today.  They have a facebook page set up for everyone to follow their story and a P.O Box address where letters, donations, etc can be sent to help out.
There's no guarantee that Heather will come out of the coma but ever since her infection went away they let baby John lay with her and she cried.  She's a fighter and she needs everyone's prayers for her to recover and come out of her coma.

~  Jessica, a blogger at you are my color, and I have been trying to get another Austin blogger meetup planned.  Jessica actually lives in San Antonio but we've talked about meeting so much that we're just determined to make this happen.  We have the date, November 4th, and we know we want to do brunch somewhere in Austin but now we're just needing to decide on the restaurant.  I've mentioned a few options including Max's Wine Dive, Jack Allen's Kitchen, Olivia's & Snack Bar which are all great choices.
If you're in or around Austin and you want to attend the meetup with us, email me and we will get you all the details & final decision.

Happy Friday y'all!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Praying for you and the Browns!! I know what's its Like to be waiting on a job opportunity answer that could mean so many amazing changes!! And I can't imagine what the Browns are going through!

Hope the meet up works out!! If my parents still lived in Austin id use it as an excuse to crash your meet up. Jessica would understand. :)

Omg, that Browns story is so upsetting. I am definitely thinking about them. How horrible. It's something I actually thought about while pregnant, like what if?
