So, moving on . . .
I honestly don't know what took me so long to try this recipe (you've probably seen it on Pinterest) but you better believe I will never, I repeat that, NEVER use jarred alfredo sauce ever again. I'm a big Olive Garden chicken alfredo fan and it's the only thing I've ever ordered as my meal there for as long as I can remember. I would say I could completely give up going to Olive Garden all together if I wasn't as addicted to their spinach artichoke dip as much as I am to their chicken alfredo. So if anyone can track that recipe down I'll be your best friend for life.
If you do not make this recipe as soon as you possibly can (given you aren't dairy free or on some sort of a fat-free diet) then you are Crazy with a capital C.
Please make it, then come back here and tell me how much you love me . . . I'll be waiting
and here's how this amazing-ness will happen
1 pkg pasta of your choice (I actually chose to make this with my favorite HEB Ala Omega-3 penne multigrain pasta)
1 stick butter (unsalted or salted just make sure it's butter)
1 clove minced garlic
1 pint heavy cream
1 cup parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp cream cheese
salt & pepper to taste
Cook pasta according to directions.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat melt butter then add garlic. Saute butter & garlic for approximately two minutes.
Add heavy cream & cream cheese then heat until bubbling (not boiling).
Add in parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth.
Add salt & pepper to taste.
Stir in cooked pasta and serve with your choice of meat (chicken, shrimp, salmon, etc) or all by it's awesome pasta self.
If you are an alfredo lover like myself you will love this recipe - Promise!
Enjoy!
