I had such a fun weekend with my family and it flew by so fast like always.
Of course I drove up to Dallas on Friday afternoon and made it in time to head out to dinner with my Mom, Dad and Grandma for my Dad's birthday. We went to one of his favorite restaurants and since I hadn't eaten all day, I stuffed myself until I wanted to pop. We were almost through with dinner when my cousin Kristy and her husband Kevin came to join us for dessert. They sang to my Dad and put him in a sombrero and we enjoyed cinnamon and sugar sopapillas.
Saturday we trekked it out to Allen, TX where we ate, drank green beers and played Top Golf. Only 3 of us in attendance had played before (myself included) so my Dad, brother and cousin Michael were all excited to try it for the first time. Each of them loved it so much they got a lifetime membership instead of the 30-day pass. I know that as soon as the location opens closer to them in The Colony, they'll be going back all the time. We had a wonderful afternoon and my Dad said it had to be one of the best birthdays he's had in a long time which I absolutely loved.
After Top Golf we checked out a little hole-in-the-wall pizza place that my brother had been to a few times before and said it was one of the best pizzas he's ever had. A few of us girls tried the chicken alfredo pizza and even though I wasn't super hungry after eating at Top Golf, I could have eaten more than my share of that pizza. It was pretty darn good! If you're ever in the Allen area make sure to go check out 5th Avenue Pizza by Stacy's furniture.
When we finally made it home for the night we were exhausted and Dad pretty much went straight to bed. My Mom and I stayed up for a bit while I uploaded all my photos from the day and previous family events to her computer so she could have them as well.
Sunday I slept in a bit then ran a few errands with my Mom then next thing I knew it was close to 6pm and I needed to get on the road back home. I think there was lots of spring break traffic on I35 which made it a longer drive then normal but I had stopped again to pick up a book on cd at Cracker Barrel so I was pretty entertained throughout the entire drive.
It was a wonderful weekend even though I didn't get to fit everything in that I wanted to. I missed seeing Allen's family because they got together at 5pm on Saturday and we didn't leave Top Golf until close to 7pm. Plus I didn't get to see Honey but I've gotten quite a few updates and he's doing well. He has to stay home and rest due to the incision they had to make that connects to a major artery so he won't rupture it at all.
I'm excited that due to Allen's schedule we will be able to go home for Easter so we will be Dallas bound in another 12 days or so.
Allen has his hand surgery today so I'll update y'all on him later on. Have a great day y'all!
