If you've been around my blog long enough you are most likely aware of how traditional I tend to be (i.e. our wedding) and how close we are to each of our families. In my younger years I wasn't thrilled with my name being so common and always thought I would choose something that wasn't. That all changed when we found out we were pregnant. Names that I thought were absolutely perfect for my "future" children moved down on the list and family names (from mine and Allen's side) took the top spots. We were excited to welcome either a boy or girl with no preference but one of the best parts was knowing what his or her name would be . .
. . and her name is
Betty Leigh is special for multiple reasons including the meaning behind her name. My maternal Gramma passed away last year from stage 4 lung cancer and her name was Betty Lou. She was one of the most amazing and influential women in my life and I love that my Betty is named after her wonderful great-grandmother. Betty is such an "old school" name and that's one of the reasons I love it so much. Leigh is just as special because not only is it my middle name but also my Mom's middle name which she passed on to me and I knew I would one day pass on to my little girl.
We are so in love with her name and can't wait for the day we get to see her sweet face in person
